A Day to Celebrate Youth

A Day to Celebrate Youth

September 03, 2017

For many years Turks and Caicos has set aside the last Friday of September to celebrate the contributions and the potential of a group of islanders you may not expect: the youth. Citizens age 15 and under comprise almost a third of the country’s total population, and on National Youth Day, adults are encouraged to take the day off work, and everyone, from toddlers to senior citizens, pours out into the streets to honor the islands’ young residents and the bright future they represent. Enjoy the annual parade through Providenciales along with the many games, song and dance performances, concerts, competitions, talent shows, and other fun activities organized by the Department of Youth Affairs in the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture. Wherever you turn on September 29, on virtually every corner of Turks and Caicos Islands, you’ll find spirited celebrations of this unique national holiday.

Thank You
